Jewish cemeteries
Before the war in 1939 there were over 1,000 Jewish cemeteries
in Poland. Now there are less than 400 containing tombstones.
Most of the tombstones were destroyed by Nazis during the
war, but also after the war Jewish cemeteries were devastated.
